The latest scandal in Afghanistan is another installation in the continuing series: Don't Disrespect Shit that You Have Already Killed. Naturally, we reflect upon the things that Our Troops ought not have done. They ought not to have posed gleefully in front of pictures of the dead, nor burned up them Krans, as we say in Pittsburgh, nor peed on them bodies. Somehow these reflections seem to come up short of: we ought not to have killed those Afghans in the first fucking place. Look, this stuff doesn't reveal the dark underbelly of the Afghan War; it is the war. The first prerequisite of defiling a corpse is a corpse.

But... Ted Nugent.
HE'S GONNA KILL THAT POOR WOMAN!
The first prerequisite of defiling a corpse is a corpse.
Hear hear. To paraphrase what I said last time around this carousel: if you're not willing to see pictures of American soldiers grinning with the bodies of the enemy, you probably shouldn't be at war in the first place. Frankly, I find the killing a lot more morally problematic than any subsequent messing with the resulting corpses; but that's just my progressive American values showing.
Not to get all conspiratorial-like, but I think there's something else at work here. At a minimum, I find the assertion that the models in this latest catalog were suicide bombers to be the most telling thing about the whole affair, bein' as that's the running justification for the prerequisite, anyway.
i support our american troops in afghanistan in particular i support our american troops in afghanistan coming home right away
there's a long and ugly history of mobs of violent american white men posing in a joking and light-hearted manner with the deceased victims of their cruelty which goes back at least to the lynch mobs of the south. it's significant to connect those murders with these murders in that they are clearly grounded in white supremacy. to overlook this aspect and basically say "it's the murder, stupid" is missing the forest here.
"Stop taking pictures, you idiots!!!"
If a digital camera never took a picture, then did the murder ever happen in the first place?
if there's no picture, it didnt happen for the SPECTACLE lol
Nony, you're suggesting that the most objectionable thing about lynching Negros was not that they suffered terribly and died, not that their community and friends and families lost them forever, but that their white killers got a propaganda advantage from killing them. Wow. Talk about reducing people to objects.
It is not the case that murdering people was tainted because it was white supremacists doing it. White supremacy was tainted because it required murdering people. Yep, it's the murder, stupid.
As for people "abusing" corpses, it has little to do with white supremacy per se. It has to do with our ape nature. We like to exult in the demise of our enemies; part of that is taking or making trophies. Chin up: now we just take their pictures. Our distant ancestors would have eaten them.

what?
"As for people "abusing" corpses, it has little to do with white supremacy per se."
it's not the abuse of corpses, per se, that i'm addressing, but the posing for photographs in a jocular manner, whose historical antecedent is, in my view, the trophy photos taken after public lynchings of black people in the south.
but yeah, we're all just apes and that's the only context needed.
Thanks for that, Anon @ 4:50. It seems mod-prog civic-religion fundamentalists go even further than us Bishop Ussher Southern Baptists---the world is actually only four hundred years old! We agree on an America-centric universe, with a crippling Original Sin starting things off and predominating ever since....
relevant context is for pwoggies!!!! don't you know that today's armies of white americans killing innocent brown people and posing with their dead bodies for light-hearted photographs has nothing -- NOTHING! -- to do with the same thing being done by white americans a hundred years ago?
it's significant to connect those murders with these murders in that they are clearly grounded in white supremacy.
"clearly" to you, maybe. You'll see what you want to see, to confirm your world view, your assumptions about everyone you fear, and your fears themselves.
I'm amused by your comment, and hoping that you're trying poorly at being ironic while wearing girl jeans and skippykeds, Rx-free eyeglasses, and a 70s pornstache while posting comments from your fixed-gear pedaling situation in Portland. Maybe you're actually that highly overrated "comedian," Fred Armisen!
The supreme crime from which all subordinate crimes stem.
Lol there was no torture, cruelty, and battlefield barbarism prior to "white supremecism". This is reductionism of the sort that assumes the vector of all oppression has a unified locus. There has been the debasement of subject populations for millenia, race may play some role, but it isnt necessary. Romans viewed non Romans as "barbarians" regardless of race. They also viewed other "Romans" as Romans regardless of "race".
"the vector of all oppression has a unified locus"
mathematically speaking, that's a very mixed metaphor, demizel.
perhaps:
"the position vectors of all oppressions have a common origin"
But nonetheless, I should add that the trope had a nice Donnesian feel to it ... M'sieur and any other good Metaphysical would certainly approve ...
Here come the excuses!
You scumbag sonofabitch. You bubble-butted bulging maggot piece of shit. You syphilitic Siberian sonofabitch. I'm gonna screw your head off. I'm gonna stick my dick in your nose. I'm gonna sell you to queers. I'm gonna bury you like dog shit. Ahoorah!
The first prerequisite of defiling a corpse is a corpse.
Noooo... You think?
The Dull Sycophant

It does seem rather silly to judge the actions of American soldiers through the lens of recent American history. It seems likely that the practices of the Byzantine Empire and the Ming Dynasty were equal influences on their behavior.
Anyway, I'm an old-fashioned man, and the way I reckon it, you shouldn't defile corpses. It's barbaric and nasty.
This doesn't prevent me from being angered about the rest of the war; if I hear about a person who was beaten and mugged, I can rail against that without declaring that one crime is important than the other.
Saying "You shouldn't beat and mug people" in no way implies that I'm also saying "The beating would've been okay if only there hadn't been a robbery".
Same with lynching people and taking trophies from their corpses. You shouldn't do either. This doesn't mean it's okay to do one of those things by itself.
And, come to think of it, some of the bodies are alleged to be insurgents who accidentally blew themselves up.
Assuming that's true (A pretty big assumption) than they're only indirectly a result of the war. Posing with their corpses is still grisly and unacceptable, even if the corpses AREN'T there because of you, personally.
Praise the honesty of the corpse posers. Enough pictures sent back home and the proles might be moved to think more about what they're paying for. Can you think of any better use for the shells left behind by the severed than to buy a lottery ticket for the "no war" jackpot?
Open, honest, brutal war-chants, and the encouragement of our brave soldiers the corpse posers, would do more than pompous indignation--either of the posing or of the killing--to break the genteel spell of the deathlords.
I knew it.
25 fucking comments and we've concluded that...what?...its not really nice to kill people OR pose with their corpses.
I think IOZ needs to repost this and we all take a mulligan.
Fuck.
Dude, they were failed suicide bombers - they killed themselves. Look, man, I've got certain information, all right? Certain things have come to light. And, you know, has it ever occurred to you, that, instead of, you know, running around, blaming the United States, you know, given the nature of all this new shit, you know, this could be a lot more, uh, complex, I mean, it's not just, it might not be just such a simple... uh, you know?
la, pants, .. is this something of a refiguring of speech on a refiguring and on .. but different from my own ways , or are you being more of .. serious .. some how ?/ .. . the posing is wrong ..is all that needs to be said in many different ways in the end .. .
the only thoughts that i have had .. in the very little that i have looked at here .. . are that the photos aren't of what they seem to be of because they have been altered in some very odd fine tuning ways .. . , my mind considers more of .. possibilities .. than most .. .
Hey people! Long time no see!
I was in LA last weekend for my grandpa’s 90th birthday. All the grandchildren had to perform for him so I did a dance performance. Check it out!

Honestly, I’m not that happy with this performance. I was tired from dancing in my cousin’s performance before this, and I didn’t have much time to rest. I don’t think I did justice to the choreography. I just thought I’d share since I got a lot of comments saying I should dance to Wedding Dress.
Tracklist Big Bang VN
big bang
for the mix I made with the choreography:
Kanye West – Power (remix) choreography by Keone Madrid
TaeYang – Wedding Dress choreography by Shaun Evaristo and Lyle Beniga
Usher – More choreography by Keone Madrid
Se7en – Digital Bounce choreography by Keone Madrid
On top of this, I danced to Jay Park – Abandoned with my little cousin. He was too shy to dance on his own so I offered to be in his performance with him. Watch it here!
Hope you guys enjoy it! :D
Adorable story. Can make myself wish to be much better. Thank you for sharing. You might be wonderful.
