Let Greene's candidacy rise and fall on its merits. Hopefully the Democrats wil stop trying to make this All About Race.
Inky, are you ever not making snide, whinging remarks about race? Do you talk about it in your sleep too?
Anon @ 1:38---I don't mention race at Tea Party meetings. Among the mod-prog pious I'm tempted, however, and usually succumb. Answer me this: would any one outside South Carolina have heard of Greene were he a white man?
He can join Glen Beck in the pantheon of individuals who just look stoopid.
What an unfortunate choice of tie.
Answer me this: would any one outside South Carolina have heard of Greene were he a white man?oh hell yeah, just look at what he's proposing to do: unite Korea! a wildly popular policy prescription, if you ask me. talk about forward thinking: he's completely thought of something no one else ever bothered to think about. with that level of creativity, he's bound to be a great President.
Answer me this: would any one outside South Carolina have heard of Greene were he a white man?Given his suspiciously fraudulent [sic] election? Yeah, his name made the rounds. When I first read that article, I had no idea he was black.
For "election" read "nomination." I'm getting ahead of myself again.
Professor---The (ahem) color photo up top escaped your notice? That served the Gray Lady's basic purposes quite well, along with the reference to soul sensation Al Green. The establishment media's conspiracy narrative ever since has concerned the sinister co-opting of an African-American for anti-prog activities. Has the Right no shame or decency?
I get my news in Google Reader and I don't always click through for the photos.Anyhow, you forget that Alvin Greene is entering the fray during THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION OF OUR TIME:http://www.tnr.com/blog/william-galston/76247/attention-democrats-the-senate-now-in-play
According to Wikipedia:"The day after the primary election, the media reported that Greene was facing felony obscenity charges stemming from a November 2009 arrest for allegedly showing a pornographic picture on an Internet site to an 18-year-old female University of South Carolina student and then allegedly saying to her "Let's go to your room" while in a computer lab.""FELONY obscenity" for a gauche pick-up ploy?!?!? I knew South Carolina was backward, but jeez....-- sglover
I think his idea to create an action figure of himself in order to stimulate the economy is brilliant.
I support Alvin Greene. His supporters should chant "This is what democracy looks like!". Perhaps after his senate term Lee J. Mercer will choose him as his running-mate.
He's the ideal politician in a way. People are always complaining about special interests & candidates being detached from their concerns, who better for these times than an unemployed guy who seemingly doesn't give a fuck whether he gets elected or not?
I have no idea how they came up with the term "Juicing the Mitchell" but I endorse the concept.
Only Inkberrow would see this as an opportunity to bemoan the great Prog agenda on race or something or something...
