Here is Benazir Bhutto being all like dudes I am goin back to Pakistan and it is going to be so fuckin tight and democratic and shit. I have always considered Madame Bhutto a sort of global-beats, world-café version of Winona Rider. For the record.

It's gonna be all tight and democratic and shit, but she sure keeps her trap closed about Musharraf tossing Sharif back out of the country recently, doesn't she?

Of course, if Benny is is Winona, than Sharif is, um, Robert Downey Jr.

Wasn't one of the reasons she was exiled is because her government was so venal, corrupt, and incompetent that MUSHARRAF seemed (at the time) like a breath of fresh air? "Democracy" doesn't always work??

You recall correctly, Brian, though I would stipulate that formal elections and politicking are possible without democracy.
